Passing the time in Sonoma

On day four of the Sonoma leg of my journey, I am still on Indy time. I awaken at 6:00 a.m., ready for the day to unfold, ready to pass the time. Many years ago, Rick Steves, the travel guru, was attempting to explain a daunting difference between Americans and the French, and said that in the U.S. people "spend time" while in France, people "pass the time". Nothing subtle here. I, for one, am used to quantifying my time spent each day (...a half hour to clean, bills and banking an hour, errands two hours, lunch ten minutes, etc.). But, on my self-imposed sabbatical, I intend to "pass the time". Hey, I am so sorry, but I've gotta run... I'm late for a two hour lunch (-: !
